- When Monitored:
When the Mirror Vertical Driver Output is turned on.

- Set Condition:
If the Passenger Door Module senses an excessive current draw on the (P72) Passenger Mirror Vertical Driver circuit within 10 ms of turning
on the Mirror Vertical Driver Output.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Operate the Mirror Switch in all directions several times.
4. Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times.
5. Turn the ignition on.
6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1D2B-PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and
connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See: Verification Tests/Body Verification Test.
2. TEST FOR A SHORTED OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
5. Operate the Mirror Switch in all directions several times.
6. Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times.
7. Turn the ignition on.
8. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1D2B-PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To 3

No
- Replace the Outside Rearview Mirror.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See: Verification Tests/Body Verification Test.
3. CHECK THE (P72) PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Passenger Door Module C2 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (P72) Passenger Mirror Vertical Driver circuit in the Passenger Door Module C2 connector.
Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (P72) Passenger Mirror Vertical Driver circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See: Verification Tests/Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 4
4. CHECK THE (P72) PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (P66) PASSENGER MIRROR
SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the (P72) Passenger Mirror Vertical Driver circuit and the (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground circuit in
the Passenger Door Module C2 connector.
Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
Yes

- Repair the (P72) Passenger Mirror Vertical Driver circuit for a short to the (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See: Verification Tests/Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 5
5. CHECK THE (P72) PASSENGER MIRROR VERTICAL DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (C917) PASSENGER
MIRROR HEATER RETURN CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the (P72) Passenger Mirror Vertical Driver circuit and the (C917) Passenger Mirror Heater Return circuit in
the Passenger Door Module C2 connector.
Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (P72) Passenger Mirror Vertical Driver circuit for a short to the (C917) Passenger Mirror Heater Return circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See: Verification Tests/Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Passenger Door Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. See: Verification Tests/Body Verification Test.
