OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves removing light to moderate paint surface imperfections on factory applied paint finishes revealing a swirlfree,

Page 56
Thoroughly wash vehicle before inspection or repair. Always begin with least aggressive method to remove a paint condition.
Measure and document paint film thickness before, during and after repair. Only .5 mil of clearcoat removal is permissible for
condition repair. If more than .5 mil of clearcoat is removed, refinish is required. Follow paint manufacturers recommendations.
NOTE:
Work one section at a time. Always work on a cool paint surface free of bonded surface contaminants. Should above surface defects
be present; prepare the surface with Meguiar's Detailing Clay (C2000/C2100) and Last Touch Spray Detailer (D155). Wipe remaining
residue with a Detailing Cloth.
RECOMMENDED PAINT CORRECTION PROCEDURE:
NOTE:
Always wear appropriate eye, skin and ear protection.
1. Set DA polisher, equipped with a DA Backing Plate to 4800 opms (90psi)
2. Place a DA Microfiber Cutting Disc on the DA Backing Plate
a. 3 (DMC3) & (S3BP) or equivalent.
b. 5 (DMC5) & (W67DA) or equivalent.
C. & (DMC6) & (S6BP) or equivalent.
3. Prime all new and dry pads with the desired wax or compound to prevent additional scratches on the paint finish.
4. Apply DA Microfiber Correction Compound (D300) or equivalent directly to DA Microfiber Cutting Disc and begin using moderate
pressure and overlapping passes followed by 23 light pressure passes.
NOTE:
For best results, wipe residue off using Meguiar's Ultimate Wipe Detailing Cloth (M9910) or equivalent.
5. Clean DA Microfiber Cutting Disc frequently using a Meguiar's Pad Conditioner Brush WPCB, compressed air or Meguiar's Pad
Washer WPW.
6. Continue working until desired finish is achieved.
RECOMMENDED PAINT FINISHING PROCEDURE:
1. Set DA polisher, equipped with a DA Backing Plate to 3800 opms (90psi)
2. Place a DA Microfiber Finishing Disc on the DA Backing Plate
a. 3" (DMF3) & (S3BP) or equivalent.
b. 5" (DMF5) & (W67DA) or equivalent.
c. 6" (DMF6) & (S6BP) or equivalent.
3.
Prime a new or dry pad with a thorough application of DA Microfiber Finishing Wax D301 or equivalent.
4. Apply DA Microfiber Finishing Wax D301 or equivalent directly to DA Microfiber Finishing Disc applying 23 light pressure passes to
entire repair area and wipe residue off using Meguiar's Ultimate Wipe Detailing Cloth M9910 or equivalent.
5. Clean DA Microfiber Disc frequently using a Meguiar's Pad Conditioner Brush WPCB, compressed air or Meguiar's Pad Washer
WPW.
NOTE:
A final wipe down using Meguiar's Synthetic XPress Spray Wax (D156) or equivalent and two Detailing Cloths, will yield added
depth, shine and protection.
